Re-introducing the Blackwell Badgers (away kit)
Someone pointed out that badgers are usually black-and-white, occasionally brown-and-cream, but almost never blue-and-blue
Good News! My team is almost completely painted.
Bad News! I've had to designate the current paint scheme as the "away kit" to avoid the inevitable comments re: badgers not generally being blue.
Over the past few days I've found a bit of time to get the shading and highlighting done. The shading I was pretty happy with; these are the linemen after their wash:
The highlighting I'm less convinced by. In the interests of time (i.e not taking 8 hours per miniature) I have used a larger bush for all of the basing, shading and highlighting - the "Regiment" brush from the Army Painter collection. It was fine for initial layers, but perhaps a bit blunt for the highlighting - getting the right amount of paint on the brush, and the right angle of attack, to get thin highlight lines where I wanted them proved tricky. The results are a bit inconsistent. Next time I may go for the "Character" brush, or even the "Detail" brush for highlights.
On the other hand, I was quite pleased with dry-brushing on the metal and cloth elements.

Just the bases and transfers to go, and the lads will be ready for their first game. Fingers crossed I can get them across the line this week, and aim for a grand kick-off next weekend!
